Examples db web

Hi, is there any fully fledged mini-database available, as examples to work on.. where the andoid app on the phone/tablet. communications with a main database on a remote server.

ie an SQL server 2008 database.

I use sqlite dbs for the mobile part and sync data with the remote sql server
