A fire at a French cloud services firm has disrupted millions of websites, knocking out government agencies’ portals, banks, shops, news websites and taking out a chunk of the .FR web space, according to internet monitors.
It's pretty scary how bad the disaster recovery was for those services, if my bank went offline due to one datacenter fire, I'd think about changing banks.
Granted, I work in cloud DR scenarios, so have high expectations, but these sort of incidents show how badly many companies (and governments) have their IT setup.
