Frustrated - Compiling and moving to device

I have the B4A compliler. Used a sample, and have used it with an emulator, apps works OK. Can't seem to use the B4A bridge to connect to Android X2 device - but thats another story for another time. Decicded to compile and paste executable to device. Thought it would be the JAR file. Device does not recognize the format.

I'm frustrated .....
1) When I compile code, which file is the executable ?
2) Can I simply cut and paste an executable to the device ?
3) Does anyone know why (or am I the only one) have trouble loading USB drivers for the And X2 ?

Connecting to the And X2 is a lot more difficult than I expected !!!
Thank You so much for listening to my rant.

I'm interested to hear what problems you have with the B4A Bridge - it just seemed to work!

I guess you've done the following....

1) Installed B4A Bridge on your device.

2) Started B4A on your device and connected it to your laptop or computer. Noting the IP Address of your device.

3) Press Start : Waiting for connections..

4) Go to the toolset.. Select Tools --> B4A Bridge --> Connect --> Enter in the IP Address for the device and press OK

5) Check device, it should now say Connected.

This is B4A Bridge v1.01

You forgot something

You guys forgot to mention to connect to WiFi (the same router as your pc)

Otherwise the IP address that your phone has is NOT on the same local network, and thus making the bridge not work at all. It's worth mentioning.

using wifi, the ip adress is typically: 192.168.1.xxx
over mobile network, it's an internet ip, eg. 10.63.12.xxx

One Issue
Thank y'all for all the input. Pieces are finally starting to come together. I was trying to use the bridge with a USB connection. As I read more doc and read replies I finally realized how it worked. Unfortunately, at the office, connecting via B4A bridge might be more trouble than it's worth. We have two wifi nets here: one for visitors the other for our corp laptops. Unfortunately, most offices are wired, not wireless. Will continue the effort.

Second Issue
I have tried numerous times to compile then move the APK file over manually via USB cable. I can not find the file. I have done several searches using *.APK, but the file can not be found. Have done it with and without the emulator running (app does work on the emulator). I am compiliing it using the Compile (without signing) Akt-2 button. Any swithches, settings, etc. that I might have missed ?

Third Issue / Question
I had a real business need that I developed using the Basic4PPC demo compiler. I "assumed" when I purchased the Basic4 Android compiler it would be a "simple matter of" cutting, pasting, and compile. Appears the two dev languages are miles apart from a coding perspective. Am I wrong ?

Thank You. If y'all can get me through this first app, I hope I can help others later.

But you don't need to manually copy it over, if you compile and run, targetting the device it will copy the apk over to the device for you.
