Android Question Funny Huawei keyboard behavior

I'm test my app on and Huawei phone and the keyboard is acting strange.
When entering text in a EDITTEXT field I cannot click RETURN to get to a new line.
Nothing happens.

Also my menu button on the phone is not showing my menu.
If I first click the RETURN key on the keyboard and then click the menu button I can see my menu.

It works just fine on another Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S3 mini).

Does anyone knows what could be wrong here?

What is targetSdkVersion set to?

Its set to 14

Are you sure that EditText.SingleLine is set to False?

Yes it is set to false.
It does work on other Android phones, just not my Huawei.

Test it with a different keyboard. Maybe the keyboard is not implemented properly.

You mean on the phone or in code.
Cause I'm not sure how I do it in code.

Install another Keyboard app from appstore and try again using this app

Problem is that this is a commercial app and I can't make everybody download a keyboard from the store.

Of course but, please, could you make the test using another keyboard ? It will surely help debugging your issue.

When I change my keyboard to (AOSP) it seems to work fine.

Thanks. From my archived records, I have fixed that in the past only by adding the IME to the EditText
