Generate docs from library XML

Here's an idea that could save library developers a lot of tedious typing or copy/pasting...

When we have a library to publish and create a new thread we generally feel obliged to add to that post documentation for all or some of the libraries methods and properties.

We have probably already meticulously done much the same, adding javadoc comments to our code then the auto-generated library XML file contains the same information.

Wouldn't it be handy if we had a utility that would take the library XML and generate forum code automatically for us to add to our new thread?

If you click on a library in the B4A Help Viewer you see HTML auto-generated from a library XML file - we'd need forum BB code not HTML.

Yes but what i'm requesting is that when i have created a new library, that i could (auto-create) create some forum BB code from the library XML file to add to my post that documents the library.

As a library is updated it'd be easier to update a single post in a thread with (auto-generated) forum BB code rather than have my manually created library documenation scattered thoughout the thread as and when library updates occur.

I could picture a PHP script taking a library XML file and generating forum BB code from that XML - or as a feature request it could be done for us.

Martin.
