Has anybody been sucessful at getting version 2.9.0 to work, im using 2.8.0 which is pretty dam good apart from crashing when my windows machine sleeps, but i can live with that. I've tried 2.9.0 several times and each time ive given up in disgust and used the restore point to go back to 2.8.0
I cant recall exactly what happens but im not game to try it again untill someone else gets it working and proves its compatability

Hi. I left Genymotion time ago because the constant issues and install prohibitions. I use now NOX https://es.bignox.com/. Its only a 4.4 virtual machine but it doesn't give me troubles to test my apps.

cheers, ill have a look at it

I use the basic Android Virtual Device (AVD) emulator configured for Intel Atom (x86) which uses hardware acceleration. It is extremely fast and free. It takes a little while to set it up correctly. IMO it runs as fast as a real Android device. Most current Intel processors support Intel hardware acceleration. The only downside is you can't have something else like Virtual Box using hardware acceleration at the same time as AVD.
