Since few days it is impossible for me to send my own app to beta testers. Sending and receiving is blocked by google; even older versions, which i had sent before, are now not sendable. Even with dropbox links it is impossible to download the app on the device.
I checked with virustotal.com and none reported a problem. Is gmail blocking all apk files or only mine?
i could not send a email with an apk in attachment. Even n in the past. I always send it from another adress because GMAIL does not allow to transport APK files.
I tried the download on the mobile with an dropbox link; in the past i sended my apk file for more than three years and gmail had no problem. My last successfull sending was on 19. sept...
Did you try to modify the extension to something else (e.g. "ap") then reverting it back on the receiving end?
This works just fine for *jar files produced by B4J.
Wouldn't just be easier to quickly create your own ftp server and share the link for testers. They could just download new app or even go back to old one if you leave all apk files to ftp.
Use Filezilla and some cheap server such as Digital Ocean 5€ droplet or something else.
I have just started having this problem few days ago, I was able to send apk throught gmail.
Now I upload it to google drive and send a link, it works.
What about sending a download link to a Google drive folder? (did not test it). Even better: To your own storage/server folder. Name it *.APK (capital letters do the trick sometimes ;-))
