Google adwords and ads camplain to get more users

Have you tried google adwords from developer console ? How did performed for you ?
I am waiting for a fund redraw and I will try startapp advertising with I find pretty powerful .
I do not now if it worth advertising knowing how low is the retention rate these days.
What do you think ?
