Clicking on it, the app itsself showed the correct date. Solution: Remove and place it again. Even Google Fails sometime Reason: I tried some other widgets which looked better. Maybe it's the reason. Now I will look twice if the date is correct...

It's a Huawei P8 with 5.0. I put the "blue" google calendar widget on the homescreen (instead of the "green build in one" which should be the same).
