Google - Illegal and absurd

I never do this but this time I registered on Perplexity.ai using my Google account (registration which by the way was not useful for my purpose).

Do you know what happened? In the source of the (single) Perlexity.ai page I found... my real name and surname (in addition to my GMail and I don't remember what else).

1 - Does Google pass my personal data to sites to allow that registration? They are not needed for this purpose!

2 - The site writes them in the HTML source code of its page!!! What bullshit is that?!

I will most likely report this fact to the competent Italian authorities.

Thats why I never sign into a third-party service/website using my google account, because then that third-party service/website will (at minimum) have access to the general information about my google account.

You got screwed. you are the most cautious (paranoid) person I know and yet you let yourself be fooled. as soon as you have agreed to enter the data in the clause, you also accept that all user data is transmitted and used by third parties.

Always use a Facebook login fake for this purpose

It's also the first and last time I've done it.
But for a Google Account authentication, Google certainly doesn't need to pass any personal information!

1. You can use https://www.perplexity.ai/ without login.
In fact I used Perplexity without registering (it wasn't possible even if you wanted to, until recently) but then I registered hoping to get an API Key, which doesn't exist.

2. Some sites use Google OAuth2 for quick sign in, something like https://www.b4x.com/android/forum/threads/class-b4x-google-oauth2.79426/ that can access only user name, email, profile photo and maybe birthdate

In the source of the (single) Perlexity.ai page I found... my real name and surname
:oops::oops:

"source" = reference to the information you are query contains your real name?
Is that mean you are getting popular?

What do you mean by "single" page?

Even any website contains a specific name, it can be a coincidence that there are more than one person in the world having the same name.

My point is do we need to concern?

I'm already popular and very rich ?
"source" = the html of the Perplexity.ai page (which I was "investigating" to detect the input and output elements).

Personally no, because I have nothing to hide (except my ugly face ?), but on the one hand this thing annoys me a lot, on the other I am amazed that my
personal data are found in the html of the Perplexity page: what strange purpose do they have?

Do you avoid sending via http - get sensitive data and they write mine unencrypted? Ok, they are "inside" the page that theoretically only I should receive, but they still browse the web unencrypted.

I agree, you are popular. :)

I am not affiliate with the site and I don't use it often.
What I see is the site starting by making a check with CloudFlare and it is using HTTPS.
They also stated on top right that noone can read the info unless you share it.

I believe you are browsing with a secure browser where the address bar is showing a lock icon. The information should be encrypted before sending out to a server.

AI model usually doing web scrapping data from all the sources from the Internet. Your information such as name may be published or existed in other websites. Most of the time, it just very general data. Unless the AI is able to hack into some job posting websites and read your CV and your salary or other sensitive data. Also, I doubt the AI is able to read into bank database with your transactions and passwords.

Just as a start, I deleted the Perplexity account (go where I'm thinking, Perplexity ; together with Google!)

You have canceled your account and therefore you can no longer log in
But Google definitely doesn't erase your data
They're not crazy, they live with our data
