Hi,

When I check the Permissions of my App, the Google Maps requires the following dangerous permissions (the one with the star)

GMapsPerrmissions.png

May I know why the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE* (Dangerous) permission is required for Google Maps ?
Or is it appearing because that I have done/included something by my mistake.

The need to use Google Maps in my app is to have the following:-

  1. I need to show the user's present location on the map
  2. I need to show some predefined locations on the Map
Any advice will be appreciated

I added to manifest
B4X:
AddManifestText (<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" android:maxSdkVersion="18"/>)
RemovePermission (android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

and use rp.GetSafeDirDefaultExternal
Google Map works, at least I don't see troubles

I check also Google Play Services version (should be 8.3 or later).
Meanwhile version 8.3 is enough old (3 years), to find a phone with 8.3- is enough hard, because Services have auto-update feature.
