HarmonyOS 5.0 has been officially released and is no longer compatible with Android.Does the b4x community have plans for this? Please contact us if you need information and assistance. I'm sure Chinese developers in the community are happy to help.

HarmonyOS is a system compatible with mobile phones, tablets, computers, and smart wearable devices.

Why to make the thing incompatible with popular and widely-supported ecosystem ?
Supported for free for developers and users.

Is it just for extra lot of work (to be again supported) for free ?

You won't get the answer from western media. Nothing lasts forever. I started look for alternative due to more and more restrictions by Google to the developers. At this point, you can compare Harmony OS with iOS. In the future, Android. Or maybe it doesn't matter. You will get the point and answers when the time comes. Harmony OS is not only targeted to mobile platform. It targeted on Internet of Everything. And Huawei is doing everything right for the ecosystem.

I do not mind, any new is going earlier or later.
I just mean that it's difficult to get world popularity and be in each pocket - for the interest to support new thing by lots of work, resources, software...

And Google Play Market - it's not a single place for the Android, with their limits.
And finally more exactly regarding B4X - i do not think Erel would support HarmonyOS by development of a new IDE... IMHO, sure.

Hongmeng used to support Java as a development language, but no longer does. Arkts (a superset of javascript) is now supported, and the Cangjie programming language (developed in Huawei but not yet released) will be supported in the future. This is just a hope, and Erel and the community are grateful whether or not they support the development of B4H.
