Heavy RAM usage when using webview loading websites

Hello,

I'm using a webview to load and Show HTML Pages from the web.

Dinge this, every time the webview loading a New URL the RAM memory used by the app increases very fast. After a few HTML Pages, the app requires 150 or 200 MB of RAM.

I'm wondering if this is normal behaviour.

I tried to clear the Cache using the reflector lib. And I tried to find something else that could "free" the allocated RAM After using the webview view. But it didn't help.

Any ideas on that?

No, unfortunately not.

You do not need to do anything. The browser engine is responsible for handling the memory correctly.

Just noticed that in emulator, showing 7 websites in webview allocates around 35 MB of RAM.

On my Galaxy Note, showing 2 websites (same websites as in emulator) in webviews grabs already more than 60 MB of RAM.

I hope that's normal and the device clears the RAM when needed RAM space correctly...
