Help, I cannot LOG my SGS

Hi EREL....

Been having this issue, but now I could really use the Log..

When I try to connect the logger, this is what I get:

"LogCat connected to: 39352895ED9400EC
Unable to open log device '/dev/log/main': No such file or directory"

Whats this all about??

Just a guess but have you turned on USB debug on the device? Although it probably wouldn't find it at all, but are there any other options with it on your device?

Yes I have, otherwise I would not be able to compile&Run...
Everything seems OK, except for NO Log!

It sounds like a permissions Issue, this may help

Edit: I didn't mean permissions, but it may help anyway (typing too quickly!).

I see what you mean...In fact I am using a cooked 2.3.5 rom, so it's probably related..I will know in a few minutes...

Found It!!

Seems to be Kernel related...
Some, not to say almost all, custom ROM have LogCat disabled...

Cableguy, I had the same prblm with my Galaxys, "run of the mill" Froyo, not rooted. The solution was:

Reboot to Recovery mode, used the options under "TWEAK Options" and Enabled Logging.
