What you have indicated is not simply a grid of buttons, but an animated menu.
It allows you to know, starting from a hexagon, which are the hexagons in the same horizontal, vertical or transversal line, or all the hexagons in the concentric circle with respect to the center.
It allows you to see the grid as if they were the three sides of a 3D Cube, or to trace a path connecting several squares.
There are also animated menus to give you an idea of what you can achieve.
It seems more game oriented. It seems to me very complex but interesting on an educational level
