How are you calling HideKeyboard?

I have:

B4X:

Sub Globals
      
       Dim p As Phone
.
.
.

Then:

B4X:

Sub AmountBox_EnterPressed

      p.HideKeyboard(Activity)

End Sub

If you set ForceDone to true then the keyboard should hide automatically. You do not need to call HideKeyboard.

I've tried various combinations but I can't reproduce the need to press Enter twice. Care to post a small project that displays it on your device and I'll try it on my devices?

I think this is related to "word prediction" and "spell correction", disabling these features makes things work as expected.

How is this accomplished on an inputdialog where the input is INPUT_TYPE_TEXT?

sorry i did not explain properly I am using the following code

B4X:

Dim dlgPassword As InputDialog

dlgPassword.Input = dlgPassword.INPUT_TYPE_TEXT    
dlgPassword.PasswordMode = True
ans = dlgPassword.Show("Enter your password below.", "Password", "Ok", "","",Null)
Passwordinput = dlgPassword.Input

when the password has been entered the keyboard stays on screen. How do i hide it without using "ph.HideKeyboard(Activity)"

I don't think that it is possible. This issue was discussed in the Dialogs library thread.
