B4J Question How do I publish a B4J/Windows App?

Hi All,

Is there somewhere to publish B4J apps? I have tried Upload.com but they insist on company details and a URL.
I am not a company and don't have a web site. Upload.com geared for Microsoft, not for hobbyists.

Regards
Roger

But are you marketing it towards corporations and their IT departments or are you expecting individuals to find it and pay for it themselves? The reason I ask is because the selling of desktop software isn't nearly the neat problem selling of mobile software is. There's been considerable discussions in the forums about how to do it and no really good answers have arisen out of those discussions. Erel sells desktop software and he faces all the same obstacles we do: where to host the downloads, how to attract an audience, etc...

Itch.io seems to be a rising force in cross-platform software selling but they are mostly geared towards games. I doubt it would help in your case.

Another strategy is to have a mobile version or mobile component that is hosted on, say, the Google Play Store and then have a link to a download of the desktop version/component listed in the description in your Google Play listing. You'd have to figure out how to host the desktop download, of course.

Hi again Roycefer,
All good stuff you have said there but it is fairly simple. The B4J is a port from Android in a Windows wrapper. Both versions free with no advertising. Have a look on Android Share forum. Antenna Bearing Tool not something to make money.

In that case, the last paragraph of my previous post is probably most applicable. Write a tiny B4J server to host the downloads on your computer or something and include a link to this download in the Google Play listing for the Android version of your app. People who search for an antenna bearing tool will find your Google Play listing, as well as the link to your desktop version download therein (as well as this forum thread; hello there from the distant past!).
