Android Question how to change background color edit text

Hi,
How change the black color off the background edit text control?
The control have only black color!?

You can change the color like this:

EditText1.Color = Colors.Red

Thanks, but I was wrong to apply: I meant to set the color by the designer.

The colors came from the theme and - i think - cannot be set by designer. You need to do that by code if they should have other colors than the default in theme.

It is not really simple to change the color. If you call EditText.Color then you will get a quite ugly view. The EditText background is made of a 9 patch image.


If you want to change the background then you should create a new image.
