Android Question How to disable notification bar

Hi

I want Android 4.0 for single-use devices. Therefore, I need to disable notifikation bar. Does anyone know how to do it?

Just an idea - I have to do this too and am thinking of solutions.
Use Standout library to display a wide thin transparent panel over the bar?
The panel would prevent users dragging the bar down.
