Android Question How to find name/ipaddress of all devices connecte to a WIFI router.

I am converting my android app from using Bluetooth to WIFI. I have file transfer working but only when I know the IP address of the server. In Bluetooth I could find the names and MacAddress of all nearby Bluetooth users. How can I do the same to find the names and ip addresses of every device connected to the local WIFI router? The other devices would be running my app server and could broadcast something if that would help.
