Android Question How to get TabStrip Working-Area-Height ?

Greetings,
regarding TabStrip as an example at :

Have two questions:
- How to get TabStrip Working-Area-Height ?
- In one tab I make image swapping, while swapping now move to another tab, I need to stop this feature (i.e. make swapping only with click into tab not by swapping mouse over)

The layout panel will fill the "working area". You can get its size after the tab was created.
It isn't possible to disable the swipe gesture.
