Android Question How to load code of an Interface or activity

Hello, I wa trying the tabhost. I get to load the design interface, but none of the events of that interface works. I know that I only load the layout, but what about if I want to respond to some button click event in that layout? How can I actually acces to the objects in the layout, for example, to call to a job post?
