How to programmatically create shortcut

How can I programmatically create an icon and put it on the "home-screeen" so my customer can "click" it to start my application.

In the IDE, under "project", choose an icon.
When the application is installed there is an icon in the application screen of the device.

Perhaps you missunderstand me.
I am looking for a way to programmatically make a short-cut to the home-screen.
I am aware that I can press for a long time and create an Icon to the home-screen but I would like my updater-app to do this.
Because after every uninstall/update the icon disappears from the home screen.

Think as in windows where you can right-click and "create shortcut".
I would like to do the same but programmatically inside another app.

Yes, I have. Thank you.
I have tested the shortcut app on several different phones but cannot make it happen.

Has anybody actually written any app for create shortcut ?

Is it possible to even make shortcuts ?
