Android Question How to read the Statusbar

Hi to All,

Is there a way to read the Statusbar in order to enumerate the notification icons? I would like to detect when the Voicemail Icon is displayed. Actually, should there be a way to identify that voice mail messages are available that would work for me, too.

Thank you Myron and Ronell for your quick response. I did search the forum before making this post and had seen the thread that Myron kindly suggested. I felt that it did not suit my needs, but I will take a closer look at it. I did download the library and demo, but the demo did not address for what I am looking to do. Also Ronell is correct and I apologize for not posting it in the question section. This is my first post and I am looking for a tutorial.
