Hi,

Does somebody know how to read information from the Windows Mobile Contacts file (?) using Basic4PPC? I want to convert the contacts into a (Google) .kml file. I know how to create a .kml file, but not how to get the information about contacts from Windows Mobile.

That sounds like an interesting idea. Do your contacts entries have latitude and longitude? It doesn't seem a very useful format otherwise...

The KML.dll that has been published here is rather limited. Perhaps we need a more comprehensive one. But it would be hard work to do all of KML!

(BTW it has been explained to me that you can get all references here to KML by doing a Google search but not via forum search.)

Erel,

Thanks for the quick response. That library works fine.

MJCoon,

I have made quite some progress. With the Outlook lib I got the contacts and stored those in a CSV file on my PDA; then I moved that file to my PC and loaded it into Excel. Using GPS Visualizer I got a file with the translation of my addresses into coordinates. I still have to decide whether I will use the .kml file which I can get as output of the translation or make one myself, which I did before.
