Unlocked: i remember that was developing the firmware for PS/2 KVM-switch with mouse and keyboard presence emulation, for some CN cheap MCU.
In far-far-far away 2001. The sch and PCB also...

I guess, it's just a mechanical switch inside.
My were fully electronic with kbd & mouse emulation. 2 and 4 channel models.
Yes, it's just a mechanical switch inside, is older. It belongs to the Paleolithic

Yes... I remember the original IBM PC design could not fit this connector behind the case so they used a reverse gendered DB-25 (Female) connector and an adapter cable to connect to the printer since most printers had Centronics interfaces. The interface was parallel TTL signals so you were limited to a few feet.
