No you will have to download the picture first and then load it to the ImageView

Thanks NJDude I thought as much. It is very slow though...
I will have a play and report back if I can find a quicker way.

Depending on what you are doing, you could use a WebView instead to display the pictures, just an idea.

Picasso library has option to download an image and set it to an Imageview using a single line of code
