Individual cell background color in a Table

In the table example "tableexamplev1_1_13_2d.zip", the background of the selected cell is a different color than the other cells in the table. Given another use for background color of a cell in a table, can one color several specific cells in a table with different background colors? Obivious, one can do so to one cell in the table.
