Android Question Input for my design

Hey community!

I hope to get some input for the design of my app :)
I did some forumsearches, but the results are too much for me as newbie to keep an overview and i am feeling a little lost now. There are too much libraries with actionbars, navbars, controllbars, ..., and on top of that different solutions for sliding menus.
I would apprieciate if some of you more experienced guys could give me a hint on how to start (like: 'I would use informatix this-and-that'). I am aware that this might be a case of personal preferences, but as there are so much solutions available i would like to have a point from where i can start.
Thx for your help! :)

What i want is a top bar with:
- a hamburger item activating a slide-in menu
- a text which isn't the appname and can be changed as i want
- an icon

The slide-in menu doesn't have to be something special with lots of costumization. I'd like to adept its size and transparency and it should work easy like a listview for example.
What i don't want is that the OS decides to add stuff like 3-dot-menu to it. It should allways be as i designed it.
