Installation Problem

Hi all, good day, I change my computer and then I decided to reinstall everything, (on both computers the OS is win 7 64 bits), to B4A, first install the java (jdk-7u7-windows-i586.exe) and then the android sdk (installer_r20.0.3-windows.exe) as indicated by the page "Local compilation / Full version". however
when running the android SDK MANAGER the manager only open a window but closes immediately and nothing happens no longer. I tried that several times, even using the SDK installer_r21-windows.exe and the same.

I think that I need to install "the platform tools and platform images", with the SDK Manager

None of this happened to me in my previous installation
Surely I'm missing something, but I can not determine what can be.

I hope someone can guide

Thanks in advance.

I have just had the same problem using Windows 8. I thought it must be a compatibility error but perhaps the sdk link needs to be changed.

In my case the SDK flashes up for less than a second then disappears (running Windows 8 64bit with Java 32bit). I'm going to try an uninstall and reinstall now.

OK - still not working for me under Windows 8 64bit.

1) Uninstalled the SDK and Java
2) Installed Java (X86). (used basic4android link)
3) Installed SDK (used basic4android link)

Hi Erel as comment at the beginning of the post, I also do this 2 times: using win 7 64 bit, happens to me and I'm not using win 8, now I just do these steps, but does not work:
1) Uninstalled the Java SDK and
2) Installed Java (X86) jdk-7u7-windows-i586.exe. (used basic4android link)
3) Installed SDK installer_r20.0.3-windows.exe (used basic4android link) but again the SDK desaparefunciono flashes up for less than a second then Disappears
4) Uninstalled the SDK r20.0.3-windows
5) Installed the new SDK SDK installer_r21-windows.exe (used basic4android link) but disappears again.

Asked: The Java (X86) jdk-7u7-windows-i586.exe is correct?

The difference is that in my old computer I use java 6, and the android SDK 17.

At the moment I returned to uninstall the SDK and java so I am ready to follow any other option.

thanks for the support

NOW WORKS :icon_clap:

Hello, already working the android SDK Manager Follow these steps:
1) Install Java (jdk-7u7-windows-i586.exe) in the default path (program files (x86) \ java ......)
2) Install the Android SDK (installer_r21-windows.exe) in C: \ Android \ android-sdk.

3) After the installation, the SDK Manager automatically opened.

The change I made was to install the Java in the default path. I had been trying to install it on a different path. while the android sdk installed it in C: \ Android \ android-sdk.

:BangHead: was something that is simple, but sometimes do not understand because it happens

Thanks and I hope this works for you Tom.

Thanks EREL

No - I already tried that, however I'm pleased to hear that you got it working on Win 7. I'm sure that there will be a fix shortly.

Just to add to this, I had problems on Windows 8 (64bit) as well;

http://www.b4x.com/forum/basic4android-updates-questions/23106-compile-problem-windows-8-a.html

To get it working I had to install in these locations (D: is my apps drive);

1) D:\Java\jdk1.7.0_07
2) D:\Android\android-sdk
3) D:\Basic4android

Most importantly I still had problems compiling so my additional libraries had to go to D:\Basic4android\AdditionalLibraries (previous install was D:\Basic4android\Additional Libraries ie with a space). Once I did that everything worked as expected.
