installed program doesnt run

im new to this software can some one help
i follow all the instructions to create an instal file , ive made a simple form
with one button on it no code behind the button
i just want to see if i can get something to work
the instal process works ok but when i click the application it doesnt do anything
what am i doin wrong?

You compiled your program and tried to run it?

yes, i compiled it on the pc as device.exe and ran it on the pc
then created setup with cabwiz and ezsetup, transfered to mobile device
and it appears but when i click the program it doesnt work

The executable created by ezsetup should be run from the desktop. Your application will get installed using Activesync.
You can copy the cab file to the device and install it directly there.

can you tell me do i need .net on my mobile device to run this program
i transferred all the files created in the procedure
i clicked on the cab file , it seemed to do something but
the program still does nothing.
if i do need .net on my device how do i put it there.

i just cant get this thing working what am i doing wrong
i treid running basic4ppc on the device but i just get an io error
im stuck

Yes you need to install Microsoft .Net CF 2.0 on your device (unless it is WM6 or newer which is preinstalled with it).
If you have already installed it on the desktop then the CAB file is located under:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce400\armv4

You should copy NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab to your device and install it.

thankyou for you help, it is working now
i dont understand how an example i downloaded form you site
"david erez Scaculator" ran with no problem but
my form with 1 button and the classic "hello world" text
didnt.
anyway its working now.
maybe i can get on with my mission

The program you've downloaded was compiled with the legacy compiler. Such applications require .Net CF 1.0 which was already installed on your device.
