Hi all,
I'm a retired software developer and I have recently acquired my B4A license.
Despite having a degree in Electronics Engineering, I started my professional career in software developing back in 1979. Needless to say that during my 35 labor years I have worked with quite a number of technologies: mainframes (Algol, Cobol, Fortran), pre-PC 8 bits personal computers (Zylog Z80 Assembler, Intel 8085 Assembler), mid-sized systems (Unix and C), and for the last decades, Windows (FoxPro, Clipper, Visual Basic 5 and 6, Excel VBA, Access VBA, etc.).
During my search of something to keep my brain active by using my tech skills, I entered the Android world. I did take some introduction courses to Java and Kotlin, but truth is didn't feel comfortable with none of those languages. Looking for other alternatives to Android programming, I found B4A and then I finally felt "at home". I simply love the idea of using the beautiful Basic language to program for Android.
Having said that, I'd like to say that I have no intention of using B4A for commercial purposes. Currently, I do have a couple of personal Android projects I intend to accomplish in the next months.
Cheers,
