Well, I remember well the time when I used Symbian (Nokia), I loved so much an app which can be used as an FM transmitter. You can use this app to transmit the musics that are saved in your phone and your car radio will receive that transmission (let say at 88.1MHz etc) to play over the car speakers.

Can we do that in Android, specifically with B4A?

Thanks!

Actually, my very "old" and "cheap" Nokia phone was transmitting musics to the FM radio without using any extra hardwares / modules... (no antenna, no extra wire, nothing more), just your normal phone. I have used it every day when driving until I changed to Windows Mobile phones and later, to Android... Unfortunately I forgot the app name (Symbian).

Using that, you don't need to bring and to change CDs, DVDs inside your car cabinet, you just need to save thousands of music inside your phone :)

I still have a Nokia C7 which does the same ,and the phone is in very good condition .It runs on Symbian Qt frame work.

Looking at the specs for the Nokia c7 and Symbian, it has a built in short range FM transmitter. Probably the same hardware that is in those little transmitters you can buy to plug into the headphone jack of the phone. As far as I know, Nokia is the only phone that has a transmitter built in.

That may be the reason why we can't do it in Android phones... :(

Probably not enough demand. Many car radios now come with headphone jacks or Bluetooth receivers, and those without can buy a small fm transmitter at an electronics store like Radio Shack.
