B4J Question Is there a way to read shape files?

Hi there

When it comes to maps, there are shape files that store details of polygons, polylines and markers etc etc.

Is there functionality that one could use directly from B4J and perhaps use with the available mapping components here?

You can use Google Earth pro to convert shapefiles to kml files; kml files are easy readable, because its xml.

I had worked on a VB6 application that had to read ESRI point shape files. But that was 20 years ago and I dont remember much about how I did it. I see that there are also some old posts where people had shown an interest in this. I would be happy to post the vb6 project if anyone is interested. It should be very easy to covert the code to B4X
