When you call StartActivity your activity becomes the top most activity.

I see, Erel only one activity exists active.
But why\how an activity being started by a service is not shown instead of _some_ app's activity ?

If current activity is of another app - my activity is shown OK.

Are you able to reproduce it? It is considered bad practice to show an activity from a service, as the user doesn't expect the activity to pop up from nowhere. Still it should work.
