Android Question Issue on outgoing connection in UK

Hi everybody,
We are testing our APP. So when a friend or one of us go abroad we take the chance to connect from abroad.
We have tested twice the connection from UK(dunno what is the provider).
The APP is using some WebService, using so port 80 and uses the information collected by WebServices to open two new connections. We generally use port 17000 and 17001.
Everywhere they work on UMTS and faster connections, but in UK they delay connections for a long time or don't connect at all.
They are always roaming, because they come from Italy.
Did Anybody have similar issue?

Maybe they got connected on Edge which is dead slow.

This is not a problem of roaming, etc. If a connection is bad, it is just bad. Maybe an issue with the app (ports allowed? What is it doing exactly).

My apps (I come from Germany) work it the UK or anywhere else (of course they do, because there is no difference where you are).
