B4J Question jRDC2 What is the best way

I have to connect many device like phone and lte tablette (android and Apple) to database. I read some thread about jrdc2 and it seem to be the best choice for that. I think about 2 solutions to connect device by internet.

1- Pay for vps with java

2- I have an old pc for gaming I can use it as server at home.

So, for year one to year two, it was for testing with low bandwidth traffic for less than 50 devices. The solution 2 is very cheap. For the solution 1 I will need a cheap hosting in USA or Canada (first choise).

What is the best way for me to try?.

Solution 1: what is the best and cheap hosting Java?

Solution 2: What is the best software you suggest for a home server ? I like window more then linux (I don't know much linux)

Hi!

For the second option you need also a noip or a fixed IP address.

Windows is fine, you will have no problem at all.

I have fixed ip with 60/10 Mbps internet. I think that will be ok.

Note that the non-server versions of windows restrict the number of concurrent incoming connections. Windows 7+ is less restricted than previous versions however if many clients are expected to be connected at the same time then you better choose Windows Server or Linux.

It is an OS limit. I think that the limit on Windows 10 is 20 incoming connections.
