Just a heads up

Earlier this week my PC updated to Windows 24H2, on restarting I saw I had lost 10 desktop icons.

This seems to be caused by onedrive (as the icons were held in the cloud)

I could not remember what they were, just they were missing.

To recover them, go into onedrive > recycle bin, there you will see the files that were deleted ( all mine were dated and timed the same), and simply recover them.

You will get the icons back onto the desktop, but the shortcuts wont work, but at least you can see what they were linked to, and can make new ones.

24H2 still has issues and it made my system crawl. I rolled back to previous update. Maybe we should switch to 24H2 in 2025 or better still 2026.

Yeah I had that too, but windows update found a system update from manufacturer, once applied boot-up and running were back to normal speed.
