As the title says, I'd rather not pause/resume my activity which is best viewed as portrait. However, my video is best viewed in landscape. I would rather not have to save my (incredibly large) state and instead am looking for quick solutions perhaps involving libraries or multiple activities such that I can watch video in landscape while keeping my activity in portrait (and thus avoid an activity_create).
The best solution I know would be to set your main activity to portrait only and when you want to watch this video call a second activity that is set to landscape only.
Margaret's solutions was what I was leaning too. As I way new to this (a few months) I wasn't sure if that was the right approach.
However I'm intrigued; What do you mean by "video intent" vb1992? I'm not quite tracking as I've found no options on the player to have it in a specific orientation.
LOL! That was so easy! It took me longer to find how to access process globals across activities (ie, main.my_string) than to program what I needed to do.
Thanks all for the advice and OMG do I love B4A right now!
