Android Question Label shows black, but not white

Hi,
I am using a Motorola Moto G. I want a white label with black text. It simply does not work, it is black text on dark gray. White text on black label works.
I am using B4Abridge.
What am I doing wrong?

After you load your layout, if you add

myLabel.Color = Colors.White

does it display the correct color?

No, its hard to say without seeing your actual designer properties. But if you do set it to white, it should surely remain white.
