iOS Question Labels not showing text

Having some issues and I've narrowed down to a very simple app. I created a basic B4X Pages default app and ran it. All is has a button that says "click", and it works.
Then I added a label. It looks fine in the designer (on my PC as well as in the WYSIWYG designer on the phone), but when I run it, the text on the label(s) don't appear. I've verified that the text is not transparent, etc. Why would this happen?
Then I added another label with different attributes set and the whole label doesn't appear

I guess I'm still confused/unaware of iOS specifics, starting with OS versions, etc. This was happening on a new iPhone 8 I picked up yesterday. Since this message, I updated the OS (now on 16.2), and now all the views show up. It seems I need to go learn about min versions etc now.

Odd side-effect after updating iOS is that now I see logs in B4i. ?‍
