Hello,

2 month ago i started with my project which should run finally on a Galaxy Note (1280x800 285dpi 5,3") with a Galaxy Tab10.1, which have the same resolution but only bigger screen...

Now, since the Note is available i have bought one...but my layout files do not fit now the new device...only showing 1/4 of it.
If i create a new layout and select "match connected device" it writes (800x1280 scale=2). The visible edges on the "Note" seems to be 712x1150 as i see when moving a button around in the designer (fullscreen, no title)!?

Do anyone have also a Galaxy Note an can acknowledge the screen size is not 800x1280?
Is there a easy way to modify my layouts to fit the new device?

Please help...:sign0085:

Yes, i have done...result is the views have twice of the width and height.
Before the layout was 800x1280 scale=1.
After matching device it is 800x1280 scale=2.
As a result all views are doubled in there size...

Making all my layouts new is much work (there are many views on each).
I thought as the resolution is the same the layout (x/y/w/h) would fit.
But it looks there is no other way...will start on monday with it...

Hi,

I have the same problem:

Galaxy Note says that screen resolution is 800 x 1280, scale 2.0 (320 dpi)

But my layout in the same size and scale doesn't work on that device. I can see only 2/3 of the screen.

Riko, did you find a solution?

Best regards,

Carsten

On the left side of the menu bar above is "Documentation Wiki", highlighted in yellow so that you don't miss it.
Click on that to get to the Documentation Wiki main page.
Click on "Designer" in the menu to bring up that page.
On that page see "Layout Variants" and "Common Device Sizes", which explains in detail the relationship between device size and resolution.
Also see "Making Adjustments To Layout In Code".

Yes, I know that. But in case of the Galaxy Note, I can not figure out the correct Layout.

Galaxy Note shows me that its screen size is 800 x 1280, scale 2.

But a layout in 800 x 1280, scale 2, is too large for the screen.

A Layout in 800 x 1280, scale 1,5, is too small for the screen.

Best regards,

Carsten

Hi all,

finally I got it.

A layout size of 588 x 960, scale 1.5, fits very good with the Galaxy Note display.

Best regards,

Carsten

Just update the SDK.

Then the Resolution 800 x 1280, scale 2.0 works correctly.

Best regards,

Carsten
