May work on other LG devices, but this app will open the service menu you usually access by typing a string into the dialer. There is an option under WCDMA-Only/Modem Settings/RAT Selection to pick WCDMA only and turn off LTE to get a little better battery too. LTE generates a lot of heat as well which only adds to the heat this Quad Core beast makes.
