Since I prioritize app development for IOS and also like to program away from the desktop pc, I bought a new Macbook, since my old 2019 has become quite slow and noisy.

Now I wanted to know how much faster I can test my apps and I made a test where I compile 2 of my projects and run them in the simulator.

The results are as follows:

The stopwatch time is from the moment you click on "compile" until the app is loaded in the simulator.

Intel MacBook Specs:
  • 1,4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost 3,9 GHz) 128 MB eDRAM
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645
  • 8GB RAM
M1 Pro MAcBook Specs:
  • M1 Pro with 8Core CPU and 14 Core GPU
  • 32 GB RAM
