On todays Waffle the following quote made me smile.

"Sir John Harrington, the clever chap, inventor of the modern flush toilet is well remembered for two reasons: number 1 and number 2."

(Sorry non-native English speakers may not get it)

We, Indian, also use it most of time. It is diplomatic and can be said in public.

First time I hear it. My guess is:
- Number 1: liquid
- Number 2: solid
?

It reminds me to the "Meet the parents" movie... "if it's yellow, let it meadow..." policy

That was my second guess. First was that "number" is equal to "count/measure" as a verb. So I "count one", I do my need, and I "count two", I flush.

Edit - Ok, I guess it can be sometimes: "I count one, I count one, I count two..." ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

The dark-side humour is that there was a phase among a group of people I knew where these were expressed as :
"going for a P'nC" a rather perverse and dark pun on D'nC
Yeah we were young and ..... back then.
