Map/Viewer for open street map

Hello!

I want to write a simple map-viewer and I have read the threads about that. But now, I want to show the maps of the "open street map"-project, because these maps are for free on wikipedia. The format of this maps is "OSM"?????.

Is there a way to show these map-format?
