Move? Android folder in User folder

Windows 7 under User folder is the .Android folder holding the emulators. The SD cards for these take physical space on the disk according to their requested size.
To reduce the effect on the C Drive, is it possible to reallocate where they are stored?

I think that you can change the path by adding a user environment variable named ANDROID_SDK_HOME with the required path.
