Now and then I waste a little time playing games I can find on the Google Play Store. Sometimes I find a game that feels ripe for a remake using B4X. Sometimes because it's just fun and seems like a nice challenge for a single person to make. Other times because it's like the game I played which was weird (in an interesting way) or unpolished enough to not fulfill its potential.
I know that sometimes people are looking for ideas for games. Here's a list of games I have found that might serve as inspiration, or at least spark some interesting discussions. It's also worth noting that they all have names that are great.
Retro Highway
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nicolaigd.retrohighway
Such a nice retro game! I never even liked these games in the good ol' days, but this is just great! Plus I like how "Retro" made it into the name.
Heads Off
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.ponos.korogarimasu
This is such a bizarre game, in a very good way. Perfect name!
Fingertip Balance
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boedec.hoel.fingertipbalance
I guess there are lots and lots of games just like this, but it still seems worthwile, especially considering it's probably not a huge challenge. I like how well (read: simple) the user interface is here. No "press button to start", just flip it to start the timer.
Seedship
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.johnayliff.seedship
This is a really different game. Completely text based, still with an element of stress once you get into it. I recommend it. Really poetic and fitting name.
Short Life
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gametornado.short_life
A ragdoll physics game that is just insanely violent and gruesome, which obviously is fun when done in good taste.
Survive
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sandbaygames.survive
This is an amazing game that I really recommend. Sort of same thing as Seedship, as it's also (mostly) text based, but still riveting (even more so than Seedship). To quote from the description: ”Wilderness survival simulation game. Travel to safety”. Really difficult, by the way. First time you reach civilization it feels like a real victory.
Various Guys
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwatanatto.app18
If you managed to read all the way here, I'll give you my very best inspiration. This game is like a proof of concept, it could really do with some more game elements as it's just too simple as it is. But it's sooo satisfying watching the various guys run around and do their thing. Look at the number of downloads, and the average score - if one were to remake this and polish it up just right it might be a real winner. Even the name for this game is amazing. It's so off that it's perfect.
If there's interest I can add more games to this list as I find them. Which doesn't happen too often, this was a big post of games I found over a quite long period.
