Android Question Networking with NAS drive

I have just bought a NAS drive and was wondering how practical it would be to use it to network my various tablets and phone. Has anyone tried this?

you can use the SMB lib for up and download
this works fine with my synology NAS

Thanks but isn't SMB for windows? I want to do it for Android.
