Android Question new activity and destroy old activity

hello friend i am working in a project but i have the next doubt. When i start a new activity with new object, button, etc. the old activity still been visible and old the buttons or edittext still been available and i dont want it, my other question, when i press the back button from the phone panel my aplication exit and dont go back, if you have a solution please let me know

How do you start the new activity?

Issue activity.finish after starting the new activity. The back button won't show old activity. To restart the old one you have to do in code.
